Bucks' MarJon Beauchamp is headed to Greece and plans to work out with Giannis
MarJon Beauchamp said he plans to head to Greece today.
The Bucks forward was in Milwaukee on Tuesday to greet the new head coach, Adrian Griffin, at his introductory news conference. Beauchamp was impressed that Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat credited Griffin for his development and looked forward to much of the same with Griffin.
Beauchamp also said he is going to Greece and he expected to meet up with Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“To train and to go and get ready for next season,” said Beauchamp, who will be entering his second NBA season.
It will be Beauchamp’s first time visiting Greece and only his second time ever outside of the country.
“I’m excited – I don’t know what to expect,” Beauchamp said with a big smile.

Antetokounmpo has shown a soft spot for Beauchamp. Last season when Beauchamp exploded onto the scene early on, Antetokounmpo was reminded of his own early days as a player.

"I really believe in him. I believe in what he’s about today and I believe in what he’s going to be about in four, five, seven, 10 years from now," Antetokounmpo said after Beauchamp scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Nov. 14. "I think he has a skill set that's unique. He plays with a lot of energy; he plays with chip on his shoulder ... he's not a big talker."
Beauchamp started in 11 games this past season, most of them early on, as the Bucks dealt with several injured players. He played mostly off the bench, averaging 13.5 minutes and 5.1 points over 52 games.
After Greece, Beauchamp said he will play in the NBA summer league.
