Get your bubble tea and mochi donut fix at this new tea shop on Youree in Shreveport
Are you obsessed with boba tea? Have you been dying to try the new mochi donut food trend? Do you constantly crave the crunchy, cheesy Korean corn dogs? Well, there's a new spot in Shreveport where you can get all three and it's on Youree Dr.
On Wednesday, Jan. 4 Tea Mochi had its grand opening with a buy one get one free drink special. The local boba tea house offers a unique variety of delicious drinks, mochi donuts and Korean corndogs.
While bubble tea isn't anything new in the Shreveport area, Korean corn dogs are still a relatively new food trend that combines hot dogs, melty cheese and a satisfying crunchy outside. Mochi donuts have been around since the early 2000's but just recently began to gain more interest thanks to social media.
In case you don't know, mochi is a Japanese rice cake made of japonica glutinous rice with the donuts being made of eight small balls connected into a circular shape that's fried and easy to pull apart. These sweet little treats come in a variety of delicious flavors.
"At Tea Mochi we want to create a comfortable, modern place where friends and families can gather and build happy memories," said owners David Huynh and Nhi Nguyen. "We are dedicated to offer the high-quality products and committed to provide the best customer service. We're proud to bring something new to Shreveport and thankful for the love and support from the community. We aim to make our local businesses strong and thriving!"
