Brooklyn resident wanted for New York City homicide arrested in Binghamton after chase
A Brooklyn man wanted for murder and parole violation was arrested in Binghamton this week after he was spotted operating a vehicle in the city.
Members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force attempted to take Taykwann Browne, 26, into custody around 4 p.m. Wednesday before police say he fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
A short time later, Browne was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the area of Eldredge Street and Brandywine Avenue, police said.
The driver of the vehicle Browne collided with called 911 and told dispatchers which way Brown fled on foot. Browne was taken into custody by members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force on the railroad tracks nearby.
Investigators also located a loaded 9-mm Ruger handgun, about 12.9 grams of fentanyl pills, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
