Briarcrest Christian football announces coach Brian Stewart out after nine seasons
Brian Stewart is out as football coach at Briarcrest, the school announced Thursday afternoon.
Stewart served as the coach of the Saints program since 2014, leading Briarcrest to the quarterfinals three times during his tenure. Briarcrest won a region title in 2021 under Stewart. The Saints went 5-6 this year and lost in the first round of the playoffs to Pope John Paul II, 35-13.
“Brian Stewart will not be returning to Briarcrest after Christmas break,” the school said in a release. "... A search to fill this position will begin immediately."
Stewart also served as the High School Dean of Students at Briarcrest. He had a 66-34 record during his nine seasons with the Saints.
Stewart did not immediately respond to calls at the time of publication.
"We appreciate his years of service at Briarcrest Christian School," the release added.
