Boys soccer state semifinals: Bolles, Yulee eliminated in South Florida

For the fourth consecutive year, Bolles' boys soccer playoff run ended one step short of the final.

Fort Lauderdale NSU University poured on the goals after halftime, eliminating the Bulldogs 5-0 in Saturday night's Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A semifinal.

Bolles (11-9-2) held the Sharks off the board through the first water break, but top-ranked University (19-1-1) broke through before halftime and added four more goals after the break. Rafael Guerra scored a hat trick and fellow senior Evan Herman notched two goals.

University advances to a 4:05 p.m. Thursday state final at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand against Winter Park Trinity Prep.

The Bulldogs lost the 2020 and 2021 state semifinals to Tampa Catholic, and went down in 2022 to Ransom Everglades.
