Boys lacrosse: Jamesville-DeWitt pulls away from Honeoye Falls-Lima in state semifinal
It started out as a track meet and for one quarter, the Honeoye Falls-Lima boys kept pace.
But then Jamesville-DeWitt found some separation.
J-D advanced to the Class C state semifinals for boys lacrosse with a 13-5 win over the Cougars on Friday evening at Homer High School.
J-D opened a 3-0 lead before HF-L responded with a pair of goals from Drew Angelo and Chase Perryman. It was a 6-4 lead for J-D after the first quarter and from there, it was all J-D.
The Red Rams held HF-L to one goal over the final three quarters.
Grady Goodberlet, Braydn Trybuskewicz and Matthew Brassie scored the other goals for HF-L and Trevor Reese made nine saves.
HF-L ends its season with a 15-5 record.
J-D (16-4) was led by Gannon Kessler, who scored six goals and Sam Brazell, who scored four. J-D advances to Sunday’s Class C state championship at Hofstra University.
