Boys Basketball Districts: CSN, ECS, and St. John Neumann among winners Monday night
Here are the results from boys basketball district tournament games played Monday, Feb. 7.
CSN 74, Oasis 42: The tandem of Grayson Kerscher and Stefano Schmeiding led the way for the Seahawks in their class 3A-District 8 quarterfinal win over the Sharks. Kerscher led CSN with 16 points and six rebounds, while Schmeiding added 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
“This was a nice start to hopefully a long playoff run,” CSN coach Greg Donahue said. “(The) Team got first playoff game jitters out of their system.”
ECS 60, Gateway Charter 57: The Sentinels were able to outlast the Griffins. Jordan Rivera led the ECS scoring attack with 22 points, while teammate Austin Leslie added 13, and Gavin Williams chipped in 12.
St. John Neumann 58, Donahue Catholic 30: The Celtics picked up their first playoff win since 2015 as they downed the Shamrocks. Neumann will travel to FBA for a tough road test against the Lions.
Bonita Springs 50, Lemon Bay 47: The sixth-seeded Bull Sharks went on the road and upset the third-seeded Rays. Bonita Springs will turn it around and head to seconded-seed Clewiston.
