Bo Nix selected by New England Patriots early in 1st round of PFF’s 2024 mock draft

One of the last times that the New England Patriots needed a franchise quarterback, they managed to hit the lottery with a sixth-round draft pick with some guy named Tom Brady.

New England is in the same position now according to Pro Football Focus, but the Patriots likely won’t wait for the sixth round. Their potential next franchise quarterback happens to reside in Eugene.

PFF says Bo Nix should be the Patriots’ first-round pick in the 2024 draft in April.

It feels like the Patriots will be on the hunt for a new quarterback next offseason. If they choose to address the position in the draft, Nix is an option. As a very good dual-threat player, Nix has improved his game dramatically from his Auburn days, with a cumulative 69.3 passing grade under pressure the past two years and an 89.9 passing grade this season.

NFL teams will be raiding the Pac-12 for quarterbacks as the conference happens to have five or six quarterbacks who should be ready to play at the next level.

PFF says USC’s Caleb Williams will go No. 1 to Chicago and interestingly enough, the next Pac-12 QB to go after Nix at No. 8 is Washington’s Michael Penix, Jr. down at No. 19 to Atlanta.
