Bo Jackson weighs in on Deion Sanders' potential coaching future at Auburn
Former Heisman trophy winner and Auburn legend Bo Jackson spoke highly of Deion Sanders on Wednesday.
During an interview with Sports Seriously, Jackson discussed Jackson State coach Deion Sanders' future and possibilities of coaching somewhere else. Reflecting on the success Sanders achieved in two years with the Tigers program, Jackson was asked if he thought Sanders would be a good fit with his alma mater, Auburn.
“Deion could coach anywhere in the country — college or professional level — that he wants to,” Jackson said. “It’s just whether or not the organization is ready for Prime. You can look at what he’s done for Jackson State in the short amount of time he’s been there. He has the charisma. He has what it takes because Deion, like myself, we were coached old-school and that’s the way he’s coaching his players. You’re seeing the results.”

Since Sanders joined the program in 2020, Jackson State has a 20-5 record and is currently undefeated at 7-0 this season and ranked No. 5 in the FCS Coaches poll. The Tigers recently defeated Campbell 22-14 to extend their streak.
Sanders signed a four-year contract in 2020 with $300,000 extending annually through December 1, 2024, to coach at the historically black university.
Sanders' undefeated Tigers have turned heads across the country, and Jackson State will host ESPN's "College GameDay" for the first time in program history on Saturday. The Tigers are scheduled to face Southern University at 1 p.m. Saturday.
