Bengals' Sample: Trey Hendrickson should've been ranked higher than No. 78 in NFL Top 100
Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson is ranked No. 78 in NFL.com's Top 100 Players of 2022, down from No. 78 one year ago.
Fellow defensive lineman Cam Sample is among teammates who think Hendrickson should've been ranked higher, per a tweet from Bengals play-by-play announcer Dan Hoard:
4. The #NFLTop100 countdown began last night on @nflnetwork as players 100 to 51 were revealed. Trey Hendrickson
made the list for the 2nd straight year at #78.
"In my opinion he should be higher,” said Cam Sample. “If you saw the terror he put into quarterbacks you would agree." pic.twitter.com/ljTbr9YmBn— Dan Hoard (@Dan_Hoard) August 15, 2022
In July, the Bengals' official Twitter account questioned Madden NFL 23 edge rusher rankings that didn't include Hendrickson among the NFL's Top 10 at the position.
Hendrickson's 14 sacks ranked No. 5 in the NFL and No. 3 in the AFC. The Enquirer's Kelsey Conway wrote earlier this month that Hendrickson was arguably the Bengals’ most productive player on defense.
