Behind enemy lines: TCU wins the opener if…
We now sit only four days away from Colorado’s season opener at TCU, marking the official start of the Buffaloes’ Deion Sanders era.
Colorado faces an uphill battle in its first game as the Buffs are opening as about a three-touchdown underdog against last season’s national runner-up. Even with all of the change in the offseason, the line makes sense because Colorado is coming off a one-win season while the Horned Frogs ran to a 13-2 mark and will be in their friendly confines at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
Anthony North of Frogs O’War gave us his thoughts on what TCU will need to do to win this game:
I don’t think it’s a “homer” take to suggest the Frogs should emerge victorious on September 2 – the sportsbooks have TCU as 20-point favorites – but it may not be entirely straightforward. With new starters at many key positions, it will be a classic Sonny Dykes “Do Your Job” game – if the Frogs come out and simply execute the gameplan and avoid bad penalties or turnovers, TCU will leave Week One with a notch in the win column.
