DNB Craft Kitchen has given some New Bedford flare to the classic poutine. Try the NB Poutine with hand-cut fries, chourico, and mozzarella curd smothered in house-made gravy. Then in honor of the upcoming Mother’s Day, order the Call Your Mom: homestyle fried mustard chicken thigh sandwich with iceberg, house pickles, tomato, red onion, dijonnaise, and cheddar. Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, Rescue Cafe has brought back its Churro Latte! This delicious latte has brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, expresso, and milk — get a large one for $5.25. The cases are loaded with linguica rolls, ham and cheese croissants, and lots of different pastries to eat with your latte. Stop in at 414 Main St., Fairhaven.

Just when you thought a sundae couldn’t get any better Dairy Maid Ice Cream upped the ante with its new Lava Cake Sundae. For $8.55 get a scoop of your favorite ice cream and sauce with a warm gooey chocolate lava cake. There are also 7 other sundaes to taste test this season like the Strawberry Shortcake or Belgian Waffle. Have ice cream for dinner tonight at 1517 Cove Road, New Bedford.

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Tequila Lime

With Cinco de Mayo a day away, it’s time to get a fiesta game plan in place. In Fall River, Tequila Lime Cantina is celebrating both its 10th anniversary and the Mexican holiday with its Cinco de Mayo Fiesta 2023. The celebration, featuring live music, prizes and great food and drink specials, kicks off Friday, May 5, from 11:30 a.m. until last call. Ahead of that party, you can check out this week's chef specials, available Wednesday through Saturday, including Pot Roast Tacos for $17, Pot Roast Burrito for $16.95, and Citrus Grilled Shrimp Bowl for $19. For dessert, try their churros or key lime pie. Tequila Lime is located at 197 Bank St., Fall River.

Let the fun begin! Cisco Brewers Beer Garden opens this weekend with tequila specials, taco toss, and live music. Every week they have different events and live music. Check out the upcoming Cisco Flight School on May 19 with beer flights and food pairings, tasting tours, and more. The entertainment is ready at1482 East Rodney French Blvd., New Bedford.

Do some shopping and then check out the food trucks

The Spring Craft Fair and Food Truck Event is happening Sunday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event has over 70 vendors selling crafts, food trucks, and more at the Liberal Club, 20 Star St., Fall River.  Free admission and the bar will be open to allow you to sip and shop. New Bedford Eats: Small plates, big flavors, old favorites

Go wild at the zoo: Red, White & Brew

Craft beer lovers to enjoy a wild night at the zoo. Ticket purchase provides you with zoo admission, your own souvenir sampling glass, unlimited beer/wine samples, animal encounters, and great live entertainment. Food will be available for purchase during the event. Tickets for general admission begin at $50, with a discounted designated driver ticket costing $25. The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 19 at the Buttonwood Park Zoo, 425 Hawthorn St., New Bedford.
