New Bayside football coach brings extensive, varied background
Bayside High named its new head football coach: Eau Gallie defensive coordinator Billy Miller, and he brings more than a quarter century of coaching experience to the position.
Miller has been coaching and teaching in the area since 1998, in either Indian River or Brevard counties. At Bayside, he follows Corey Broomfield, who left to join the staff at Leesburg.
Bayside athletic director Brandon Sherrill said one thing that came out through the interview process was Miller's intended relationship with Bears players.
"Outside of their families, there's nobody who's going to care about these kids more," Sherrill said. "He'll be working with them not only to be great players but great men."
