Battlefield Pro Wrestling presents Last Resort in Brodheadsville Sunday
Get ready for the Last Resort as Battlefield Pro Wrestling brings together some of the fiercest rivalries and one of the greatest family dynasties in the industry this Sunday at the Signature Event Center in Brodheadsville.
Doors are set to open at 4 p.m. with a 5 p.m. bell time for the big show, which will feature a roster of incredible talent from BPW and beyond.
Owner Afa Anoa’i Jr., part of the legendary Anoa'i family line of wrestlers — including WWE Hall of Famers Rikishi, Yokozuna, and the Wild Samoans, Afa's father and uncle, among many others — has been pushing his students to the limit leading up to Last Resort, guaranteeing a series of matches that can't be missed.
Perhaps the biggest draw will be a tag-team match featuring an Anoa'i family reunion, with Afa Jr. jumping into the ring for what is set to be one crazy fight for wrestling aficionados.
"Last Resort will feature the Samoan dynasty, which will be Jacob Fatu, myself, Sean Maluta, and Lance Anoaʻi, and we will be fighting Bull James, Joey Martinez, Vinny Mac and Mr. Ruda in an eight-man tag," Anoa'i said.
Another match that has been stirring up plenty of excitement is BPW's Vee Marino versus Brett Azar, who has played as 1980s wrestling icon The Iron Sheik in NBC's "Young Rock."
The two have taken to social media for talking smack, with Marino calling Azar out for being a Hollywood hoax, while Azar responded by calmly picking apart his challenger's attempt at intimidation.
"See, I can do exactly as you do up there in Hollywood with all your Hollywood friends," Azar said in a YouTube video. "I can do just like you, but I can do it a million times better. You wanna know why? It's because I'm me, Brett — I'm Vee Marino, the Superstar. And they call me 'Superstar' because BPW and the rest of the pro-wrestling world in this country and everywhere else wants to see me on their television screens."
"Vee — I got your audition tape buddy, and I'm honored that I inspired someone like you to attempt to do a monologue and an audition, but before you send that tape out to the public, or an acting agency, maybe, let me give you a few pointers from a veteran," Azar said in an Instagram post, critiquing every element of his opposition with attitude.
Anoa'i is encouraging the public to come on out to the loaded show to check out "all of your favorite Battlefield superstars."
General admission tickets for Last Resort are $25, while VIP passes are available for $30.
