Father of 3 brothers killed in Clermont County shooting charged with aggravated murder
A Clermont County father has been charged with murder after his three young sons were shot to death in their yard on Thursday, according to court documents.
Chad Doerman, 32, was arrested Thursday night and charged with three counts of aggravated murder in the deaths of his sons ages 3, 4 and 7 at their Laurel Lindale Road home in Monroe Township.
Doerman is being held without bond at the Clermont County Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. Friday in Clermont County Municipal Court.
The Clermont County Sheriff's Office said a 34-year-old woman, the boys' mother, was also shot in the hand during the incident. Doerman is not currently facing charges for that, but sheriff's officials said Doerman could face additional charges.
A girl ran down the street saying her 'father was killing everyone'
A woman called 911 around 4:15 p.m. screaming that her "babies had been shot," according to a press release.
A short time later, a passerby called 911 reporting that a young girl was running down the road saying her "father was killing everyone," officials said.
The sheriff's office would not identify the girl or say how she was connected to the family. Officials did say that she is not in any danger.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the boys shot and unresponsive, the sheriff said. The 34-year-old woman was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.
The roads around the home in Monroe Township were closed for several hours. Several ambulances sat near the house as deputies investigated.
Monroe Township is home to about 7,500 people, according to census data. It sits on the Ohio River about 25 miles east of Cincinnati and about 11 miles south of Batavia, the seat of Clermont County.
