"Two Lists for Christmas" to be read by author Lisa Carson at Morgenstern Books
Author Lisa Pieterse-Carson will be reading her first published book at Morgenstern Books in Bloomington at 10 a.m. on Dec. 11. She will be reading the the Children's section as part of the Saturday Morning Story Time Series, hosted bythe Marvelous Ms. Margaret.
"Two Lists for Christmas" was written for children ages 1-9 and was published by Doing Stuff Creative LLC. It was Illustrated by Ethan Roffler.
The story is about six friends who learn about The Gift of Giving when they put a temporary hold on their annual Christmas Wish-List Party to help Santa and his reindeer.
When Santa crashes his sleigh, Dragon, Eunice Unicorn, Millie Monkey, Sammy Sloth, Lulu Llama and Ozzy Octopus devise a plan and work together to solve the challenging task of getting Santa and his reindeer back on course. The process teaches them that there is more to Christmas than receiving presents and that an act of kindness is a wonderful gift that everyone can give. The true magic of the holiday is helping others.
Children's Book Revue said, "Lisa Pieterse-Carson has done a wonderful job of creating a diverse cast of characters in her story. From a slow sloth named Sammy to a resourceful monkey named Millie each character learns about their strengths when they help Santa and his crew get back into the skies. In addition to learning to work together the characters learn about the gift of giving and how doing something nice for others makes them 'feel good and happy inside.'"
Originally from Canada, Lisa now lives with husband, Matthew, and dog, Oya in Southern Indiana. Her work with children and young adults as a professional figure skating coach and choreographer has helped her develop her story's characters in the way they approach new adventures and learn from them.
