Austin Trout stops Diego Sanchez in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut
Austin Trout was dominant in his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut on Friday in Albuquerque in a matchup between New Mexico combat sports legends.
It was the Las Cruces native Trout, a former boxing world champion, stopping Mixed Martial Arts veteran and Albuquerque native, Diego Sanchez, at Tingley Coliseum in the co-main event of Knucklemania 3.
Trout didn't take damage, ending the welterweight fight at the 1:44 mark of the fourth round that dropped Sanchez. The fight was stopped by physician as Trout dominated from the opening rounds.
The 37-year-old Trout is 36-5-1 in the boxing ring and has won his previous five fights, defeating Jose Sanchez Charles in December.
On Friday, Trout proved capable of quickly moving up the ranks of the BKFC, as well.
