Auburn softball vs. LSU: How to watch this weekend’s top 25 battle
The No. 21 Auburn Tigers host the No. 13 LSU Tigers for a critical SEC series this weekend at Jane B. Moore Field. If you are wondering how to catch the action live, you have come to the right place.
After playing tough with No. 15 Florida last weekend on the road, the Auburn Tigers finally get a chance to prove their worth against a top-25 team in front of their home fans.
The first two top 25 SEC series that Auburn has played this season have both been away from home, at Georgia and at Florida. This time, Auburn hopes to use its’ home-field advantage to earn a series win over a top-15 squad. It helps matters that softball fans from across the country have two chances to watch this series on national television when Auburn and LSU face each other on SEC Network Friday night and on ESPN2 Sunday afternoon.
LSU, although ranked higher than Auburn, has a similar record as the home-standing Tigers. LSU enters the series with a 33-8 record and a 6-6 mark in SEC play. For Auburn, they are 30-12 and 7-5 against SEC teams.
LSU has played a challenging schedule to this point, most recently falling to No. 1 Oklahoma, 3-0, on Tuesday at Tiger Park in Baton Rouge. Auburn head coach Mickey Dean says that LSU’s experience with good teams will play a factor in this weekend’s series.
“LSU has played a tough schedule,” Dean said. “They have power, speed, good pitching, and are well coached. Welcome to another SEC weekend. We need to be focused, to trust in each other, and to bring the energy.”
