Auburn football secures commitment from 2025 offensive lineman Spencer Dowland

Auburn football is now up to three commitments in the Class of 2025.

The Tigers picked up a pledge Saturday from three-star offensive tackle Spencer Dowland, who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 40 offensive tackle in the country and the 21st-best 2025 prospect from the state of Alabama.

Dowland, listed at 6-foot-6, 290 pounds, plays left tackle at Athens High School in north Alabama. He joins four-star edge defender Jakaleb Faulk from Highland Home and three-star defensive lineman Malik Autry from Opelika in the class.

On his 247Sports profile, Dowland's primary recruiter is listed as offensive line coach Jake Thornton. Thornton helped the Tigers land Connor Lew, Clay Wedin and Bradyn Joiner in the Class of 2023, and is currently in the pursuit of four-star recruit DeAndre Carter in the Class of 2024.

Carter, tabbed as the No. 103 senior recruit in the country, is from Mater Dei High School in California. He's set to announce his commitment Sunday.
