Arkansas Razorbacks football coach Sam Pittman thought Garth Brooks was asking a question
NASHVILLE — Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman made it very clear that if he was in the presence of country music star Garth Brooks, he would step down the stage to get his autograph.
A media member by the name of Clark Brooks with ON3 asked Pittman a question at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville during SEC Media Days on Wednesday, and the coach was left stunned and perplexed for a second.
"Garth Brooks? . . . I was ready to get your autograph," Pittman said.

After realizing the reporter was not the Brooks he wanted it to be, he reflected on the question with a smile. The problem was, he didn't even think it was one.
"Is that a question?" Pittman asked.
The founder of SEC StatCat said this isn't the first time he had been through this, but made light of the occurrence.

"No, I get that all the time," Brooks said.
Hopefully, the next time Pittman encounters a Brooks, he won't be as disappointed as he was at the podium.
