Arizona Diamondbacks fans sound off on team's epic MLB season second-half collapse
The Arizona Diamondbacks were 16 games over .500 on July 1 and on pace for 96 wins.
After their game on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team is now 57-58 on the season and 2.5 games out of a playoff spot with three teams ahead of them for the final spot in the Wild Card standings.
Not good.
To say that fans of Arizona's MLB team aren't happy with the team would be an understatement, and a huge one at that.
They took to social media to vent after the team's loss 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, Arizona's seventh straight loss. Then, the Diamondbacks lost their eighth straight game on Wednesday, a 2-0 loss to the Dodgers.
The Diamondbacks are just 5-19 since the MLB All-Star break. They have won just eight games since July 1.
Yeah, it's bad.

This photo is perfect. The Dbacks were 16 games over when Kelly came off the IR and Torey opted to play him every day. The combo of he and Ahmed and their lack luster performance helped suck the life out of a young team that was on a roll.

I turned down seats and passes behind home plate last night. Didn’t think twice about it. So glad I did. The management of this team, not to mention the lack of pitching, is unwatchable.

Remember when you were in 1st place? That was a lot of fun.

We should’ve traded for a baseball team
— Logan Scott (@NotThatLogan) August 9, 2023
Gave up hope! 😢 Thought this was a playoff team but it’s just the same bad dbacks. (You don’t lose 7 in a row in August if you’re a playoff team) Until next heartbreaking season…
— Antonio Reynoso (@Antonio9028732) August 9, 2023
I just can’t watch anymore. Every day they find a new way to lose. Stunned and sickened . We’ll back to .500 headed towards another losing year.
— Big B (@BigB06708646) August 9, 2023
Being a Dbacks fan is the definition of pain.

Amateur organization that is content going through the motions. No desire to win, no accountability, and no growth. Once 16 games above .500 to now a .500 ball club, and the most the can offer up is an “aw-shucks” reaction. Damn sad man.

Just call the season already. Team is mentally and physically defeated.
