AREA HAPPENINGS: 'The Addams Family, A Musical Comedy' and Spring Arts & Crafts Show

Smithville High School Drama Club will present "The Addams Family, A Musical Comedy," 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the cafetorium. Pancake and Sausage Day, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Northwestern High School, 7473 North Elyria Road, West Salem, hosted by the Northwestern Ruritan Club. Dine in and drive-thru available. Costs are $8 for adults and $7 for people older than 65 and ages 12 and under. Proceeds benefit Northwestern community projects.

"Pilgrim Her Story," 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First Church of God, 1953 Akron Road, Wooster. Presented by Bright Life Players, contemporary musical based on The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan. Purchase tickets at the door or www.brightlifeplayers.org. Costs are $10 for adults, $7 for ages 12 and younger and a family four-pack for $30. This show is presented by special arrangement from Christian Theater Publications. Spring Arts & Crafts Show at the Fisher Auditorium & Shisler Conference Center, 1680 Madison Avenue, Wooster, 5 p.m.-9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The event is sponsored by the The Wayne County Arts & Crafts Guild with more than 100 vendors, lunch available and free admission.

Community meal, 5-6 p.m. Thursday, March 17, Jeromesville Lutheran Church, 18 E. North St. The meal includes chicken and noodle casserole, green beans, applesauce and brownies. Magic Gives Back, 7 p.m. Friday, March 18, Fisher Auditorium, 1680 Madison Ave., Wooster. Performing will be magician and record-holding card thrower Rick Smith Jr. Green Local School District students and their families will be in the audience. The event is open to the public. Swiss Steak Dinner, 4-7 p.m., Saturday, March 19 at the Beach City American Legion Hall Post 549, 125 3rd Ave. NE. Drive-thru or carry-out only. Watch for signs where to enter. Meal includes three bean salad, applesauce, mashed potatoes/homemade gravy, corn, bread and dessert $10.

Big Country Breakfast, 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, Highland Church of God, 669 W. Highland Ave, Wooster. Free breakfast of sausage gravy and biscuits, hash browns, eggs, fruit cup, coffee and juice. Open to everyone.

County Line Historical Museum open house, second Saturday of each month (March 12), noon-3 p.m., 281 N. Market St., Shreve. The Wayne County Historical Society’s eight-building campus is open every Saturday, with tours at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, free for those under 14. Storybook Trail at Kingwood Center Gardens, featuring "Good Night, Bat! Good Morning, Squirrel!," 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday, along the Nature Trail that begins at the Peacock Playhouse.
