Alabama football cornerback Khyree Jackson announces he is entering transfer portal
Alabama football cornerback Khyree Jackson announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he is entering the transfer portal.
Jackson has been suspended the past two games, per coach Nick Saban, who didn't elaborate why or for how long. Jackson started for the Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff championship a season ago.
He hasn't played this season since the overtime loss to LSU on Nov. 5, appearing as a reserve cornerback behind Kool-Aid McKinstry, Terrion Arnold and Eli Ricks, as well as on special teams.
Redshirt junior running back Trey Sanders made the decision to enter the transfer portal this week as well, per multiple reports Tuesday.
Players who enter the portal can return to their team. It just allows other teams to contact them.

Jackson joined Alabama ahead of the 2021 season, transferring in after playing at Fort Scott (Kansas) Community College in 2019. He picked the Crimson Tide over offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Ole Miss, Oregon and Tennessee, according to his team bio.
His first start was in the CFP championship against Georgia. He also received a start against Texas this season. Otherwise, he's been in a reserve role.
He finished with 35 defensive snaps against Utah State, then 20 against Texas before nine against Louisiana-Monroe, per Pro Football Focus. Over his limited playing time, Jackson has seven tackles. A season ago, he also had seven.
