Who is Aidan Hutchinson's dad? Former Michigan football star mic'd up during season opener
The Detroit Lions are not the only ones making an introduction to a national audience tonight.
Chris and Melissa Hutchinson, parents of star Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, are a prominent feature of NBC's Thursday Night Football broadcast as a mic'ed up segment throughout the game.
Chris, a doctor at Corewell Health and former Michigan football standout in the 1990s, and Melissa, a former model, were one of the most popular fan shots for the cameras in the first half as both donned custom "Hutch" hats in Lions colors and loudly cheered their son on with the same nickname.
The internet responded to the Hutchcast with mixed reviews, with many asking why exactly they have to hear from Aidan's parents every drive.
I’m keeping track of all the horrible TV decisions during the 2023 NFL season in a Google doc with the title “Hutchinson’s Parents Are Mic’ed.” Wish me luck.

When Aidan Hutchinson broke the Michigan single-season record for sacks, it was his father's mark that he surpassed.
