Will Ahsoka Be Renewed for Season 2? ‘I’m Manifesting It,’ Rosario Dawson Said

The following contains no spoilers for the Ahsoka Season 1 finale, now streaming on Disney+.

Given how the Ahsoka season finale ended the night of Oct. 3, fans of the live-action Star Wars series surely are clamoring for some Season 2 renewal news.

And yet, no Season 2 renewal was announced ahead of the finale. Nor did the finale’s closing credits confirm that more was to come, as happened at the end of, for example, The Mandalorian‘s own freshman run.

Even so, should Ahsoka fans count on more adventures for all who survived those first eight episodes?

“I’m absolutely putting it out into the universe,” series lead Rosario Dawson said of her hopes for more episodes, in an Empire cover story published in May. “We’re joking about it, but I’m manifesting it because I feel like I helped [Ahsoka creator and series EP] Dave [Filoni] manifest this role. So I’m ready. I’m excited. I’m willing. I got my ice-packs ready to go for Season 2 and beyond! I would not be mad at that.”

Dawson has, though, suggested that fan feedback and viewership would play a role in cementing any Season 2 renewal. (Ahsoka made its debut on Nielsen’s weekly U.S. streaming chart at No. 2, with its double-episode premiere, but slipped to the No. 5 spot the following week.)

“I really, really hope the fans love it,” Dawson told EW.com ahead of the series premiere (and before the SAG-AFTRA strike). “That means A) we get to do more and B) we’ve honored the legacy of this character and this journey, and I know that’s what we intended to do.”

Are you counting on Ahsoka Season 2? Or do you think her story might be continued in another of Disney+’s live-action Star Wars series, and/or in the “crossover”-type movie Filoni is crafting?
