The AFC East is back in the hands of the Dolphins. Miami defeated Buffalo’s upcoming opponent, the New York Giants. It wasn’t a pretty one, but they got the job done. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had two interceptions but they overcame that with 216 total rushing yards.

The Dolphins’ 524 yards gave them 2,568 for the season. That is the most yards through the first five games of a season in NFL history.

Final score: 31-16 Dolphins

New England Patriots

The second-worst shutout in team history for the New England Patriots came via the New Orleans Saints. The Pats are 1-4 for the first time since 2000, Bill Belichick’s first season in New England. It was the second-straight game quarterback Mac Jones was replaced by Bailey Zappe as well. The Patriots were beaten 38-3 last week as well.

At least this evens out the Dolphins taking back first place in the division.

Final score: 34-0 Saints

New York Jets

In a game that seemed to be a fight between who wanted to lose it rather than win it, the New York Jets got a win against the Denver Broncos on the road. The offseason headlines surrounding Nate Hackett followed this game… but the Jets offensive coordinator still isn’t thriving with Zach Wilson under center at all.

Final score: 31-21 Jets
