The Wylie boys soccer team played to a scoreless tie against San Angelo Lake View on the road Tuesday night.

While both teams had chances to score, the defenses were up to the task. For the Bulldogs (0-2-1) that meant solid play from goalkeeper Tyler Cook and the back line in front of him.

"We had our opportunities, as did they, but neither side could get one to fall in," Wylie coach Clay Vaughn said. "Tyler Cook played great for us in goal, as did the rest of our defense. We are really playing well, but we are needing to see one go in the net. I think once that happens then the flood gates will open."

The next change for Wylie to open its scoring for the season comes at the Alvarado tournament this weekend.

"I can see it in our kids, how much they want it and want to score and win," Vaughn said. "We just need to see the first one, then I think there will be many more goals after that."
