2025 quarterback Tavien St. Clair commits to Ohio State football

Ohio State has its quarterback in the 2025 class.

After participating in Wednesday's 7-on-7 tournament at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, three-star Bellefontaine quarterback Tavien St. Clair announced his commitment to the Buckeyes.

St. Clair, standing at nearly 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds, is ranked as the No. 25 quarterback in the class per 247Sports' composite rankings, but has skyrocketed up to the upper echelon of quarterbacks in the 2025 class, getting offers recently from Michigan, Alabama and LSU.

“They also speak with me about if I were to be the guy, building the class around me because they think they can do it,” St. Clair said Wednesday at Ohio State's 7-on-7 recruiting camp.

St. Clair also mentioned his close relationship with Ohio State quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis as a major factor to his connection to the Buckeyes, crediting his impact to the program's quarterback development.

Dennis spent a lot of time with St. Clair watching his 7-on-7 games for Bellefontaine High School.

"With him being back there, I know that he’s confident in me and I’m confident in myself," St. Clair said. "He just kind of helps me along the way."

Last season at Bellefontaine, St. Clair threw 25 touchdowns and four interceptions for 2,453 passing yards.

St. Clair was one of three quarterbacks Ohio State offered in the 2025 class along with Michigan five-star Bryce Underwood and Findlay four-star Ryan Montgomery.

St. Clair is one of two Ohio State commits in the 2025 class along with defensive back Jontae Gilbert.
