2 dead after plane crash Saturday afternoon at Salem Airport
Two people died in a plane crash at Salem Airport on Saturday afternoon, according to Salem Police.
Initial witness statements to police indicate a single aircraft was attempting to land around 3 p.m. when it crashed near the end of the runway.
Both occupants of the plane were declared deceased at the scene and have not been identified.
NTSB is investigating the Jan. 29, 2022, crash of a Beech K35 near Salem, Oregon.

The main runway is operational, but the secondary runway is shut down due to the crash, police said.
Further investigation will be handled by members of the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board, who are expected to be on the scene Sunday.
