1.In Avengers: Endgame, there's a deleted scene that takes place immediately after Tony died, and all of the Avengers took a knee to honor him.
"This heartbreaking scene occurs immediately after Tony dies and Pepper kisses him goodbye. One by one, each Avenger takes a knee to honor their fallen soldier. It's incredibly emotional."

2.In The Lion King, there's an alternate ending that was storyboarded by Disney in which Simba was defeated by Scar and thrown off Pride Rock, falling all the way to the bottom.
"The storyboarded scene is WILD. It opens with Scar admitting to Simba that he killed Mufasa. Then, as Scar holds onto the edge of the cliff, Simba extends a paw to help, but Scar grabs him and pulls him over the ledge. Simba falls all the way down from Pride Rock and is engulfed in flames, and Scar remains king. Dark!"

3.In Mean Girls, there's a deleted scene where Regina confronted Cady in the bathroom during the Spring Fling, and the two characters apologized to each other.
"Cady sincerely apologizes to Regina, and the two of them have a real heart-to-heart. Everything appears to be reconciled, and it marks a true turning point for both characters. The movie still works without the scene, but it's a cute moment that reminds viewers why they originally liked the innocent Cady so much, and it also brings a softness to the character of Regina."

4.In Get Out, there's an alternate ending where two police officers appeared (instead of Rod) as Chris strangled Rose and tried to escape, and they arrested him.
"The original ending is obviously more hopeful, but you can't argue that this ending is a lot more realistic."

5.In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, there's a deleted scene from Peeta's point of view that adds a lot of necessary context behind his motives, revealing that President Snow was blackmailing him by holding his family hostage.
"This deleted scene would have changed everything about Peeta and the hijacking stuff. Obviously President Snow was lying to Peeta, but Peeta didn't know that, so this scene shows exactly why Peeta made the decisions that he did."

6.In The Devil Wears Prada, there's a deleted scene where Miranda's husband was drunk and caused a scene at an event, so Andy stepped in to help, and Miranda thanked her.
"This 'thank you' was completely out of character for Miranda, and it totally ruined the dynamic she had with everyone. It made her look too vulnerable and weak at the hand of her husband, and it would have changed the whole tone of the movie had they kept the scene in."

7.In Limitless, there's an alternate ending in which Eddie still took NZT-48 and was dependent on the drug, but after turning down Carl's offer to work together he vowed to wean himself off it.
"This alternate ending definitely isn't as satisfying as the real one (in which Eddie actually figured out what was in the drug and ultimately tapered off it). The real ending is way more aspirational and hopeful because it showed what he became, but this alternate ending is more realistic in that you don't know what's going to happen next. It would've changed the entire movie."

8.In A Star is Born, there's a deleted scene where Ally serenaded Jack with "Is That Alright?" while a montage of moments from their wedding day played onscreen.
"Their actual wedding festivities are pretty much glossed over in the movie, but this scene breaks down the entire day. It starts with Ally at the piano, singing 'Is That Alright?,' and it then flashes back to earlier in the day when she walked down the aisle with Jack. The next two minutes beautifully intercut moments of their wedding with moments of everyone celebrating later that night."

9.In Crazy Rich Asians, there's a deleted scene where Nick has an emotional confrontation with his mother about why he shouldn't have to choose between the woman he loves and his family.
"This scene adds a lot more depth to each character, which seems to be missing throughout other parts of the film. For instance, this is the first time Eleanor is actually vulnerable. This scene provides necessary insight into her personal life, as well as her relationship with the family she married into. It's also interesting to see Nick confront her and act more like a grown-up, instead of just accepting everything Eleanor says and does to/for him."

10.In Scream 4, there's an alternate opening where two teens fake-scared each other and pretended to be Ghostface, so when the real killer appeared neither of them believed they were in danger.
"This alternate opening turns the tables on the audience by having the two teens prank each other multiple times. Then, after the real Ghostface appears and attacks one of them, the other doesn't even react because she thinks it's fake. The final opening sequence of the movie is completely different, with one teen coming reallllllly close to escaping Ghostface's wrath."

11.In The Dark Knight, there's an extended scene that followed the Joker immediately after he blew up the hospital and calmly got onto one of the buses, perfectly playing into his diabolical persona.
"This scene is short and simple, but it highlights the true menacing behavior of Heath Ledger's Joker. After he gets on the bus, he doesn't even turn around to look at the destruction he's caused. He doesn't care about it. All that matters is that it happened."

12.In I Am Legend, there's an alternate ending that actually stayed true to the book, in which Will Smith's character lived and discovered that the Darkseekers had feelings.
"In the movie's real ending, Will Smith's character blows up the Darkseekers (and himself) with a grenade, while Anna and Ethan escape with the antidote. In the alternate ending (as well as the novel's ending), he realizes that the Darkseekers have feelings, so in their eyes he's actually the monster. He apologizes, and the Darkseekers spare his life."

13.In Donnie Darko, the director's cut added an extended ending that literally showed Donnie's dead body with a giant piece of metal impaling him through his chest.
"In total, about 20 minutes were added to the film in the director's cut. This obviously made the ending much more graphic, as it showcased Donnie's lifeless body being impaled by the jet engine."

14.In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part I, there's a deleted scene where Aunt Petunia and Dudley said emotional goodbyes to Harry, revealing true character growth for the first and only time in the series.
"Outside of this deleted scene, Aunt Petunia and Dudley show virtually no redeeming qualities. However, this scene has Aunt Petunia admitting that she truly loves, misses, and thinks about her sister. It also showcases Dudley being a genuinely good person. Without it, their character developments are nonexistent, and there's no real closure."

15.In Titanic, there's an alternate ending where everyone tries to stop Old Rose from throwing the Heart of the Ocean into the water, and then she and Mr. Lovett laugh in their faces.
"This ending is entirely too cheesy and completely ruins the tone of the film. In fact, after Rose throws the necklace into the water, one of the crew members yells at her, saying, "That really sucks, lady!" She scoffs, and then she and Mr. Lovett laugh together. No thanks!!!"

16.In The Truman Show, there's a deleted scene where Truman got super suspicious about his "reality" and noticed that one of the actors was in a wheelchair one day but running around the next.
"The full movie obviously still works without this scene, but it's still cool to watch Truman grow suspicious of everyone around him as their overall plan starts to unravel."

17.In Aliens, there's an extended scene where Ripley learned that her daughter actually died while she was stuck in hyper-sleep.
"Part of the scene was featured in the original version, but the director's cut included more of Ripley's reaction, which justified a lot of her actions later on in the movie. Without the scene, there was way less character development for Ripley."

18.In Black Panther, there's a deleted scene that really highlighted the personal relationship between Okoye and W'Kabi, and it provided a lot more context as to why W'Kabi joined Killmonger.
"I really wish they kept this argument between W'Kabi and Okoye in the movie. It helps show why W'Kabi turned his back on T'Challa, and it also shows how different he and Okoye viewed the future of Wakanda, all while still highlighting their actual relationship with each other."

19.And in Bridesmaids, there's a hilarious 10-minute deleted scene where Annie had a back-and-forth argument with her nemesis, the teenage customer from the jewelry store.
"The whole thing is perfection. Obviously they kept a few seconds of the argument in the final cut of the movie, just to show that Annie got fired from her job, but there are literally hundreds of jokes going back and forth between the two characters here, and it's absolutely hilarious."
